Angklung is a musical instrument made of bamboo tradional where to play it by shaking the bamboo resulting in a distinctive sound. Angklung is a musical instrument that came from the tribe Sundanese in West Java, Indonesia. Angklung first discovered by Mr Daeng Sutigna around 1938. Originally angklung used only limited to local arts. However, because the angklung has sounds very melodic angklung the fastest growing. Not only in the show area alone but had angklung in performances up to foreign countries. Lots of foreign tourists who want to enjoy the sounds of this instrument. In addition, many of the tourists who are interested in learning this traditional instrument.
The bamboo used to make it are awi wulung angklung (bamboo black) and awi friend (white bamboo). Angklung gubrak in Jasinga, Bogor is angklung surviving for more than 400 years ago. Angklung gubrak comes from rice rites. The story first Angklung created and played to lure down to earth goddess in order to provide fertility for rice planted.
